Ingredients

  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 16 pre-cooked Italian-style meatballs
  • cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 24-30 slices of pepperoni
  • 1 tsp dried oregano

Instructions

  • Split your hoagie rolls open. Place them in your air fryer basket. You might need to do this in two batches if your air fryer is small like mine.
  • Put 4 meatballs into each roll.
  • Pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs. Don't be shy with it.
  • Add a big pile of mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce.
  • Lay your pepperoni slices over the cheese. A little extra pepperoni never hurts anyone, right?
  • Sprinkle a little dried oregano over the top for that classic pizza smell.
  • Set your air fryer to 350°F. Cook for about 5 to 7 minutes. You want the cheese to be all melty and the edges of the bread to be toas
  • Pull them out carefully and serve while they are hot.

Notes

  • Crispy Crust: Toast empty rolls for 1-2 minutes before adding toppings to prevent sogginess.
  • Batch Cooking: Use two batches if your air fryer is small to ensure even cooking.
  • Better Melting: For the best results, hand-grate your mozzarella cheese from a block.
  • Reheating: Always reheat in the air fryer, not the microwave, to maintain the crispy texture.
