Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs Chicken wings
  • 2 Limes (juiced)
  • ¼ cup Extra-virgin olive oil
  • ½ tsp Smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp Dried oregano
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • tsp Black pepper
  • tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Ground cumin
  • 4 tbsp Butter
  • 3 tbsp Honey
  • 2 tbsp Chopped cilantro
  • 1 tbsp Hot sauce

Instructions

Marinade:

  • In a large bowl, combine ¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil, juice of 2 limes, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, ½ teaspoon ground cumin, ½ teaspoon smoked paprika, ½ teaspoon dried oregano, ⅓ teaspoon black pepper, and ⅓ teaspoon salt.
  • Add 3 pounds of chicken wings to the marinade and toss until evenly coated.
  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or up to 24 hours, to allow the flavors to meld.

Bake:

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a large baking sheet with a wire rack.
  • Arrange the marinated chicken wings on the rack in a single layer.
  • Bake for 25 minutes, then flip the wings and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

Glaze:

  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt 4 tablespoons of butter.
  • Stir in 3 tablespoons of honey, 1 tablespoon of hot sauce, and the juice of 1 lime.
  • Cook for a few minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Remove from heat and stir in 2 tablespoons of chopped cilantro.

Serve:

  • Transfer the baked wings to a large bowl.
  • Pour the prepared glaze over the wings and toss until evenly coated.
  • Garnish with additional chopped cilantro, if desired.
  • Serve warm and enjoy the burst of flavors!

Notes

PRO TIPS:
  • Marinate for Flavor: Don't rush the marinating process. Allow the chicken wings to soak up all the flavors by marinating them for at least 4 hours, or ideally overnight, in the zesty lime and spice mixture.
  • Flip for Even Cooking: Halfway through the baking time, flip the wings to ensure that they cook evenly on both sides. This helps achieve that perfect golden brown exterior.
