Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • lbs chicken tenders
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp water
  • cups panko breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  • First, season your chicken tenders with a little salt and pepper. Grab three bowls. Put flour in one, whisk the eggs and water in the second, and put the panko in the third.
  • Take each tender and dip it in the flour, then the egg mix, and finally coat it well in the panko.
  • Heat your oil in a skillet. Fry the chicken in small batches until they are golden brown and cooked through. This usually takes about 4 to 5 minutes per side.
  • While the chicken fries, grab a small pan. Mix your BBQ sauce, honey, soy sauce, and garlic powder together over low heat until it is nice and warm.
  • Toss your hot, crispy tenders in the sauce until they are coated in all that sticky goodness.
  • Serve them up right away and enjoy!

Notes

  • Double-coat: Repeat the flour-egg-panko steps for an extra-thick crust.
  • Add Spice: Stir a pinch of cayenne pepper into the sauce for a little kick.
  • Cook in Batches: Fry only a few pieces at a time to keep the oil hot and the crust crispy
